About Squires Stables

Squires Stables was founded in August 2003. At that time the facility consisted of one pasture and one thoroughbred. Since that time the facility has grown and moved to Pine Ridge for its large Equestrian Centre and miles of horseback trails great amenities and yet just one of many improvements to come.

Ruth Squires - Owner/Instructor/Trainer

Born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. Grew up with a deep admiration and love of horses. As a child she took lessons at a local stable, leased horses, and did many volunteer jobs in order to learn as much as possible. She was involved with her local 4-H horse and pony clubs and worked as a junior counselor during the summer horse camps. In the summer of 1999 she attained her CHA Instructor Certification enabling her to begin teaching horseback riding lessons. After becoming certified with CHA, Ruth began teaching lessons and sharing her passion of horses with others. In addition to the private and group lessons under her instruction, she also spent a summer counseling and instructing kids at a horse camp. In August of 2003, the family relocated to Citrus County, FL where they presently operate a small lesson/training facility. Ruth's primary emphasis is in the Thoroughbred industry as she feels there is much need for rehabilitation of the off-track thoroughbreds that are looking for new careers.
